White Chapel
This is a wedding chapel, designed by the Japanese architect Aoki Jun for The Hyatt Regency Osaka. Besides the commercial purpose, this building reflects its own special architectural value. The 4 circles inscribed in regular octagonal planes create units of rings connected at points, thus forming part of the structural skeleton. This design creates the impression of fragile soap bubbles kept between two sheets of protective glass. The circle structure is the only thing separating the outside from the inside and this is why it creates the impression of a curtain wall: a way of being protected from the outside world while still conscious of it.
