The Micro compact home
M-ch is a small compact home, conceived as a temporary living space, for a number of one or two people. The project was initiated by Prof. Richard Horden with his team of students and assistants (in 2001) and was a result of the colaboration with the Tokyo Institute of Technology. It was developed as a response to an increasing demand for short stay living for students, business people or just recreation. The first settlement of 6 M-ch units was created for the students of the Technical University in Munich (and it’s still functional today). It has the shape of a perfect cube measuring 2.6 m and its lightweight structure is based on a wooden frame covered with a sheet of anodized aluminum. Inside the M-ch there are two compact double beds, a storage space, a sliding table (for up to 5 people), a shower and toilet cubicle, a kitchen area, heating and cooling facilities. Its design combines techniques for high quality compact living spaces deployed in aircraft, yachts, cars, and micro apartments. It adapts in various locations and configurations, from an isolated unit to horizontal or vertical arrangements.

It´s the drem of every corporation. Great piece. But short stay living! please stay in the world just for short stay living. I don´t imagine myself living inside that mini space!
I´m a bit scared about the image that the cubicles are one on the top of the other. It´s that a tower of cubicles? good god I hope not.
This let us think about space… is there so little space in the world that we got to live inside minimum spaces? There´s a lot of earth left yet! Why don´t we use it?
